25 Weeks

It's been a little while since I posted a belly shot. I had good intentions to do one at 24 weeks...then 1/2 the Gregory family (and I'm talking about Devan's whole family, plus spouses, plus kids) got the flu...me included. A belly picture just wasn't meant to be last week. So here ya go. I must be honest with you now, I love what little photo correcting and editing I can do on my little laptop. I will take out zits or red marks on my face, lighten up backgrounds and crop till picture is just what I want. With that said, I have painfully decided to not do anything to my actually stomach. So I'm warning you now. As the weeks go on...it might get scary.

This week I had my glucose test. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but in all honesty, it wasn't that bad. The Drs office gave me my sugary fruit punch drink at my last appointment and told me to drink it an hour before I came in. After they took my blood they said they would call me if there were any problems. So far I haven't heard anything back. This is one of those no news is good news type of scenarios.

As far as this pregnancy goes things are going great. It is still early, and we have quite a ways to go still, but all looks well. They really track all my numbers since I'm at a higher risk of developing a multitude of complication. But so far I'm gaining weight like I should and my blood pressure is great. The ultrasound we had done this week was fun. This last month each baby has done a complete somersault and is not turned the complete opposite direction that they were before.

Now for some fun facts:

*I get asked a lot when I'm due. I will be 40 weeks on April 17th. However, the furthest my dr will let me go is 38 weeks which puts us closer to April 3rd. Most twins arrive between 36 & 38 weeks...so at this point we're hoping they don't show up any earlier than mid March. Clear as mud isn't it?

*At this last appointment each baby came in at 1 pound 9 ounces. This is terrific. One of the main concerns with twins is that one will develop and grow at a higher rate than the other. If one gets to be at least 25% bigger than the other...they have to come out. Fun side note-at this last appointment they started with measuring the girl. They start with the head measurement, than the abdomen and finally the femur. Than they moved to the boy. The dr said "Oh, looks like we have a big brother." Boys head was measuring bigger than the girls. Than he said "wait, no, he just has a big head." The rest of his measurements were right on with girls.

*Since I hit 20 weeks I have been going to the dr every 2 weeks. I have an ultrasound done every other appointment. On the other visits he just listens in for their heartbeats. Once I hit 32 weeks I start going once a week. That is also when we start doing non-stress tests on the babies every 4 days at the hospital.

I think that's enough for now. Soon I will be posting pictures of the babies room. It has turned out SUPER CUTE!!!! Devan has done so much work in there. It has involved a lot of creative thinking, sanding and repainting. We really wanted to get most everything ready and all the big stuff purchased by the time I hit 30 weeks in case I get put on bed rest. Well...I'm proud to say, we are just about done. Pictures coming soon.......
