Cuttin' Wood

Sometimes a man just has to chop down a tree. Devan told me on Friday that he wanted to go get more wood. Now, while we probably don't need more wood for this year...I guess it's never a bad thing to end up with too much. Plus, cutting wood is something Devan greatly enjoys. He definitely caught the wood cutting bug from his dad. We decided to drive up to a new area before Daniel's Summit. We found a great place just 10 minutes up this dirt road. Problem was...it was so good that everyone else had also gone there. We were pretty hard pressed to find a dead pine tree anywhere. Then, we found this gnarly fat daddy tree.

He was very proud of the wedge he cut in it. Unfortunately I am somewhat handicap when it comes to running a camcorder and totally missed the actual falling of the tree. I felt really bad. This was after all the biggest tree Devan had ever cut down.
After we got home we watched the football game. I snapped this quick shot while Devan and Sophie were playing on the laptop. Man, I have never seen a child so enthralled with technology. She is ADORABLE!

Side note...I am thoroughly obsessed with baking cupcakes lately. Today I tried the Orange & White Chocolate recipe. Devan said they were just as good the Andes Mint ones. So so so good. I highly recommend it.

Oh...I almost forgot. I snapped a few pics (yes, they were taken while we were driving) of the trees changing colors.

Cupcakes & Computers

Devan recently rebuilt his computer. After getting it all setup he thought it would be cool to be surrounded by monitors. Silly kid

This weekend I made the Andes Mint Cupcakes from a great website called www.yourcupofcake.com. They turned out to be delicious...like...crazy good. I'm excited to try more recipes.

Here is a video of Devan falling a tree. He already used the chainsaw...this one was trying to perform a balancing act by not falling over.

Here is another random video. A couple of weeks ago for pack meeting we made swords out of water noodles and pvc pipe. The boys have so much fun. Here they are broken in to 2 teams charging at each other.

I just noticed that there is no sound...sorry. Technical difficulties.
